Love and Doves – Cute Russian comedy to brighten up your evening

Love and Doves (Любо́вь и Го́луби) is a Soviet romantic comedy filmed in 1984. In the center of the plot is a family of Vasiliy and Nadezhda who live in rural area with their adult kids.

Vasiliy is fond of breeding pigeons and sometimes spends family money on them, which Natalia does not appreciate. But the most interesting part starts when Vasily, for the first time in his life, receives from work a free ticket to the sea resort. There he meets a “sophisticated” (read – “conflicted and egoistic”) and lonely urban woman that lures him away from his wife and family with the fantasies of a city life…

In 1984, the film became the leader of Soviet distribution, more than 44 million tickets was sold.
